Tina Murphy brings a wealth of professional fundraising experience and knowledge of local communities to our organization
March 1, 2022 – Pocatello, ID: Sagebrush Steppe Land Trust welcomed Tina Murphy as the new Director of Philanthropy on March 1, 2022.
As the Director of Philanthropy, Tina will work with community members, partners, and others to increase Sagebrush Steppe Land Trust’s ability to deliver conservation options to willing landowners throughout Southeast Idaho. In her new role with the Land Trust, Tina will be responsible for defining, leading, and implementing fundraising priorities for the organization. Tina will provide leadership in fundraising, elevate grassroot and major giving programs, develop a planned giving program, and work with Board and Staff to build upon a culture of collaborative fundraising.
Tina has lived in Pocatello and southeast Idaho for 25 years. She has 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit space with individuals, corporate partners, foundations, and volunteers. She is well versed in data analytics, donor stewardship and acknowledgement, fundraising and creating sustainable major gift programs.
She’s had her own independent consulting firm for more than six years. She began her philanthropic work as the Interim Development Director and Development Director at Idaho State University’s College of Education, and most recently 5 years as the Regional Development Officer for the Idaho Community Foundation.
Tina attended Idaho State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Mass Communications. She holds a fundraising certificate from the College of William and Mary and is currently working on her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation from the American College.
Tina is involved in the community, including as a longtime member of the Pocatello Rotary Club and past board member of the League of Women Voters of Pocatello and the Portneuf Greenway Foundation. She currently serves as a State advisory board member for I-WIL (Idaho Women in Leadership). For the past 17 years, Tina has served as a certified firearm instructor and specializes in teaching lethal and non-lethal self-defense to women.
